How to do proper classic pushups?

  1. Start in a plank position with your hands placed slightly wider than shoulder-width apart.

  2. Keep your back straight and engage your core muscles.

  3. Lower your body towards the ground by bending your elbows, while keeping your back straight and your neck in a neutral position.

  4. Keep your elbows close to your body as you lower yourself towards the ground.

  5. Stop when your chest is just above the ground (Your palms and toes should be the only parts of your body touching the ground at this point).

  6. Push yourself back up by straightening your arms, while keeping your body in a straight line.

  7. Exhale as you push up.

  8. Repeat the exercise for your desired number of reps, making sure to maintain proper form throughout.
