WHY DO DEADLIFT?

With classic deadlift, you will mainly train:

  • hamstrings
  • gluteus maximus
  • lumbar
  • latissimus dorsi
  • teres major muscle

And secondly train:

  • traps
  • abs
  • oblique muscles
  • quadriceps
  • adductors
  • gluteus medius/minor

And secondly train if heavy weights:

  • forearms
  • triceps
  • posterior deltoid

The main focus of this training is the strength. So if you want to reach higher levels in endurance for the main muscles listed above (and if you have the right equipments), check the Pullups and Squats trainings or increase the number of reps and use lower weights.

/!\ Remember that it is extremely difficult to achieve very high levels in both strength and endurance and remember to be careful when using high weights.

We highly recommend to train as well the other parts of the body (by mixing force & endurance trainings) in order to avoid injuries due to an asymetrical body, especially when you do weight exercises. You can check the other classic trainings proposed here, by classicfit.org.
