How to do properly classic overhead triceps extension?
Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, holding a dumbbell/barbell with both hands. Raise the dumbbell/barbell overhead with your arms fully extended.
Keep your back straight and engage your core throughout the exercise.
Slowly lower the dumbbell/barbell behind your head by bending your elbows, keeping your upper arms close to your head.
As you lower the weight, inhale and focus on feeling a stretch in your triceps.
Pause briefly at the bottom of the movement, and then slowly raise the dumbbell/barbell back to the starting position, fully extending your arms.
As you lift the weight, exhale and focus on squeezing your triceps.
Repeat for the desired number of reps.
It's important to keep your elbows close to your head throughout the movement to minimize any swinging or momentum. Also, make sure to choose a weight that challenges you but allows you to maintain proper form. Finally, remember to warm up before performing any weight-bearing exercise and stretch afterward to help prevent injury.
